Water Temperature: 50-52 F

I am afraid the time has finally come that there is a lot more fishing than catching going on. Cold winter water temperatures have slowed the fish metabolism down to the point that they donít need to eat as often. I went fishing today and only caught one small striper in Warm Creek. That is one more than last trip but not enough to really get excited about.

There were two successful fishing parties in Warm Creek yesterday but they caught fish in the afternoon. I think that it will still be possible to catch fish every day for a short time, but it may not be possible to catch them all day long. There will definitely be times when fish start biting but look for long periods in between.

Warm Creek has not been as productive this past week. I would try Antelope, and Navajo Canyons to find some new fish that havenít seen a lot of hooks recently. The Warm Creek stripers were very spooky. Dropping the anchor seemed to send them away at top speed. Might try drifting instead of anchoring. The weather is still sunny and calm but temperatures are in the 40's.

I will try to find some successful anglers and see what the secret is. Look for reports on anglers corner. Happy New Year.
